The California wildfires were intense and more pervasive than ever in 2020. We had several days of ash-grey sky, orange sun and low light.

September 9, 2020 is now referred to in the Bay Area as The Day of Orange Sky. This was the light-level in our living room mid-morning on a cloudless day..

The camera has trouble catching the orange color, but not the eerie "filter" the smoke and ash created on our view.

Almost two weeks later, Matt caught a sunrise while at Masters swimming that was beautiful, but still not quite "normal."
